Western Galleries is pleased to announce West Texas artist Linda Rust!
A native of Del Rio, Linda Rust began her art career in West Texas. She has participated in local, regional, and national art shows, garnering numerous awards along the way. An "Award of Excellence" was recently earned June 27, 2024 at the American Plains Artists (APA) 39th annual National Art Show and Sale currently on exhibit in San Angelo Texas.
Her one-of-a-kind pictograph wall art designs, which can take 3-4 months to create, help honor and remember our historical First People Nations who inhabited North America.
Rust's original designs and artwork have been selected for printing on various advertising, banking, and retail merchandise including: postcards, tee-shirts, and caps sold through the Seminole Canyon State Historical Park Service in Langtry Texas, featured on publication covers distributed in Arizona, and purchased for the production of over 10,000 ATM Bank Cards, as well as limited edition prints, through the Border Federal Credit Union of Del Rio.
Linda's originals have been exhibited in a one woman art show held at the Red River Valley Museum in Vernon Texas.
Artwork has also been juried into the American Plains Artists (APA) National Show and Sale, the Stamford Art Foundation's annual Western Art Show (in conjunction with the Texas Cowboy Reunion), and displayed at the Trappings On The Llano Show and Sale.
She has taught art workshops through the Del Rio Council of the Arts and Casa De La Cultura. Favorite mediums include both oil and pastels, and subjects often portray a western still life or portrait.
Linda Rust's artwork will be available for purchase at Western Galleries, and is part of the July First Friday Art Online exhibit - opens July 5, 2024.
