  A sixth generation Texan, Kathy Weigand was raised on the Rocking J ranch just outside Fredericksburg TX. The western lifestyle is in her roots, and as a youth she competed in rodeos, horse shows, and horse judging events while her grandmother introduced her to paint-by-numbers.  She often sketched & photographed their horses and Hereford cattle, but put art aside while obtaining a degree in business management.
  An accomplished photographer, Kathy opened Hill Country Images in 2001 and studied under some of the world's leading PPA Master Photographers.  Her prints have earned numerous PPA awards, including several Int'l Loan Collection Awards (highest individual print award given), Kodak Gallery Trophy, and other trophy awards.  
  The PPA has also awarded Weigand with their prestigious PPA Master of Photography (M. Photog.) degree.
   Kathy especially enjoys oil painting, creating a limited number of originals each year.  Subjects often include Native American, wildlife, horses, and landscapes.
   Artworks have been exhibited, purchased for large corporate advertising, public displays, college displays, publications, and sold to collectors across the USA.
  Some clients/credits include: Lone Star Beer, St Judes, National Geographic Adventure Magazine, Time Warner Cable, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Cowboys & Indians Mag, Texas Highways Mag, Texas Tech, TX A&M, Eppley Univ., Harcourt Publ., Gaylord Texan Opryland Resort purchased display, Hill Country BBQ Restaurant (Washington DC), Resurgence Mag (UK), and Texas musicians cd covers & advertising.
