   A sixth generation Texan, Kathy Weigand was raised on the Rockin J ranch in Fredericksburg TX.  The simple country and western lifestyle is in her roots.  As a youth she competed in rodeos, horse shows, and horse judging events while her grandmother introduced her to paint-by-numbers.  She often sketched and photographed their Hereford cattle and horses, but put art aside while obtaining a degree in business management.
  An accomplished artist, Kathy opened Hill Country Images in 2001 and studied under some of the world's leading PPA Master Photographers.  Her prints have earned numerous awards, including several International Loan Collection Awards, Kodak Gallery trophy, and other trophy awards.  
 The PPA awarded Weigand with their prestigious PPA Master of Photography (M. Photog.) degree.
  Weigand enjoys drawing and painting images of the great American West.  Working with a limited palette of colors, subjects often include; wildlife, landscapes, ranch life, and Native American.
  Her works have been purchased for large corporate advertising, public displays, college displays, publications, and sold to collectors across the USA.
  Some clients/credits include: Lone Star Beer, St Judes, National Geographic Adventure Magazine (assignments), Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Cowboys & Indians Mag, Texas Highways Mag, Gaylord Texan Opryland Resort purchased display, Hill Country BBQ Restaurant (Washington DC), Resurgence Mag (UK), and Texas musicians cd covers & advertising.
