APRIL 2025
April's First Friday Art Online exhibit is featuring artworks by western artist Clyde Lewis.

Raised in south Texas, the western lifestyle was first introduced to Mr Lewis through his uncle who worked as a cowboy on the Walker Ranch.
Showing some interest in art at an early age, his cousin, who is a retired San Antonio police officer and artist for the SAPD, was a mentor and taught the youth basic drawing skills.
Dedicated to the cowboy way of life throughout his life, Clyde has competed in rodeo events such as; team roping, steer wrestling, and bull riding. He worked cattle on the same 3,000 acre ranch as his family, and continues to volunteer his services at both the San Antonio and Houston Livestock Shows and Rodeos.
After taking art classes, the western lifestyle remains a major source of inspiration, and the Native American culture also plays an important role in his artwork. Actually, its in his DNA, as his grandfather was an African American & Choctaw Native American. Clyde enjoys spending much time researching historical events, period-correct tools, clothing, and lifestyles of various tribal Nations, as well as black cowboys and Buffalo Soldiers. He strives to help preserve and honor not only his own heritage, but also those who worked and lived on our western frontier, especially during the turbulent 1800's.
Mr Lewis is a co-founding member of the Western Artist Roundup Association, and exhibits in various art shows in Texas as well as the recent 2025 Harlem Fine Art Show in midtown Manhattan, New York City.
Residing in San Antonio, his art has been published in books, sold to collectors across the USA, as well as overseas.
Artworks by Clyde Lewis will be available for purchase through First Friday Art Online, an online exhibit that opens on Friday, April 4th, at WesternGalleries.com
