Collection: Susan Hackney
First Friday Art Online - Opens Oct 3rd
Born and raised in Abilene Texas, Susan Hackney has been surrounded by ranch animals for most of her life, and her artworks often portray horses, dogs, and cattle.
Her first art award was earned in fifth grade, and in college she majored in art with a focus on drawing, design, and painting. Hackney has studied under several of today's leading and notable artists. She also participated in a 3 year apprenticeship under Hungarian-American master artist, Lajos Markos (1917-1993), who was trained at the Royal Academy of Budapest. The apprenticeship has proven to be a formidable part of Susan's art development and career.
Throughout her professional art career, Susan is known for her ability in capturing the subject's expression and gestures. She has been featured in major national art magazine articles including;
