Western Galleries is pleased to present renowned Texas artist Tim W. Vanya.
For western artist Tim "Pops" Vanya, a full time career in art came later in life. Born in South Africa, he earned art awards starting in first grade. Along with art, he also pursued a variety of other career opportunities. He has worked on a boat crew in the yachting industry, was a life guard, cabinet maker, iron worker, and he served as a South Texas Police Officer (retired), along his path in the professional art industry.
Watching classic western TV shows and movies while growing up, the cowboy lifestyle has always been a primary source of inspiration. Vanya especially enjoys painting people, and much of his original artwork features working cowboys, colorful Wild West characters, as well as showcasing the elegance of beautiful women.
His artworks have earned numerous awards and acclamations in juried International art shows and invitational exhibits, held in various museums and art galleries. Works have been published in art catalogs, news media, and major art magazines. His original paintings have sold to foundations, private and public collections, politicians, corporations, banks, as well as permanent Museum collections such as;
• Prairie Arts Center in North Platte Nebraska, • Pearce Museum at Navarro College in Corsicana TX., • Bosque Conservatory's Permanent Collection in Clifton TX., • Citizens State Bank in Somerville TX., • Gov Rick Perry, at the TX State Capital in Austin TX, • The First National Bank of Bryan TX., • The 12th Man Foundation, at Texas A&M in College Station TX., & more.
An art workshop instructor, Tim lives in the rural community of Somerville TX surrounded by some of his favorite subjects; ranches, cowboys, cattle, and horses. And for several years, Vanya currently serves as steering Judge with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art Committee.
