VINTAGE HOPI POTTERY SMALL BOWL

Red clay / redware
Native American Hopi Nation: Arizona area.
Estimated Age: Early-Mid 20th Century
Size: 3" tall x 4 3/4" diameter

Monochromatic Designs:
Original one-of-a-kind master craftsmanship.
Hand painted traditional geometric patterns.
Black rim
Feathers, rain cloud, rainbow (prayers for rain, but not flooding)
Attributed to the Nampeyo family
Condition:
Overall very good to excellent condition.
No major loss of paint, and no chips considering its vintage age.
Has light fire cloud on one side, and slight color variations that occurred during firing.
Hand made using coils of clay that are smoothed and shaped.
It's painted with dark brown (black) slip made from bee-weed.
Traditionally fired outdoors, which causes color variations and fire clouds.
