ABOUT THIS IMAGE: The camera's exposure was set to create dramatic dark cliff walls in the foreground, that show details in the shadows, against the bright cliffs. The photographer wanted a strong contrast without loosing the details in the rocks. The clouds were quickly rolling by, creating light shifts, and soon it would be overcast, with a flat light. Weigand waited patiently for the shifting light to hit the distant canyon wall. It only lasted few seconds, and was quickly gone. Ute mountain is visible in the distance.
